How Much Money Would It Cost To Have Make A Home Theatre Room?
how much money would it cost if i already have the speakers? the things i need would be projector, a screen for the projector, and the walls. i need to build one wall and put the sound proofing all of them. and i need a receiver.

sound proofing- 1000-2000
projector- 200- 1000 depending on quality and brand
projector screen-50-100
total could be anywhere from 1250- 3100 approximately
i got everything top of the line so it cost about 5,500
Depends what you mean by soundproofing. And how big and where the room is. To do a good job you may need to rebuild the walls ceiling and floor. At a minimum you will need to build a new wall and drywall the whole room over the existing walls and ceiling with some type of resilient material (e.g. Green Glue, or Resilient Isolation Clips (See link). Also the room has to be sealed … not easy … or sound will simply go around rather than through walls, etc. It’s not a trivial task … but a handy person can certainly do it. You also need to consider wiring and ventilation. If you do all the labour yourself you are probably looking at anywhere from $1000 up (depending on room size) … but realistically figure on $2-3000 minimum.
A projector is $500 – $10,000+. A receiver, $200 – $2000+, a screen can be built yourself for about $100 or bought for $200 – $4000+ (Note this includes drywall, painting, wiring and flooring). You will also need A/V wiring and mounting for equipment ($100 – $400)
I’ve built two home theaters (one totally from scratch in an unfinished basement and one by adapting an existing room) and two screens for projectors (one painted and one with blackout cloth). In both cases it was more expensive and more trouble than I had initially thought … but in both cases worthwhile.
It all depends on the size, quality of products, etc. The best thing to do is to get several estimates and go from there. That will give you something to go by. You can’t take one persons word over another unless you first have the facts, so do your homework. This will pay off for you in the end, believe me!
Projector screen: $50-150
Projector: $700-10,000 (you can get a cheaper data projector but will likely be quite disappointed with the picture quality)
Receiver (if you don’t have one already): $150-2,000
It will cost exactly $11,364.22
