I currently run a cleaning company out of my home, I have a few employees that do the commercial and residential cleaning but I havn’t been very active in the business and want to grow it. I was thinking about taking out a loan but I’m not sure how much I should borrow and exactly what I should buy with the money. I feel as though I am just starting the company even though its been operational for quite some time now. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Sassy gave some good advise, though I don’t think you need a loan that big, if at all. You don’t give enough information to really give accurate suggestions, but I will give you a few general ideas. Do meet with your insurance agent for increasing liability insurance and worker’s comp, etc. If you feel the rates are too high, call around to other agencies-the rates for liability vary.
I would get vinyl wraps for your vehicles so you have mobile billboards, so to speak, everywhere you drive and park. Have your employees wear shirts or tee shirts with your company logo/contact info on them. Look for new construction. Take a box of donuts to the site foreman or supervisor then ask him who you need to contact for a cleaning contract. Call large businesses and government to find out how to get on their bid request lists for cleaning services.
